A Superb Pork Curry
The last few weeks have been problematic.
I have started cooking again. When I put my mind to it I can cook quite well, however I can eat even better than I can cook. The result….Beaujolais is beginning to pile on the pounds.
My wife, Sophie the Terrible is away at the moment with 3 of the children. It is true distance does make the heart grow fonder. Even though I have been left with the oldest (Jack), I miss Sophie’s domineering presence terribly, and have possibly hit the bottle.
Loneliness has meant I have started drinking again. Not helped by the fact that my father Old Harry (DW1977- 23hrs 03 min) has just returned from France. Old Harry is incapable of taking a simple holiday. He has brought back many samples of the wines from the Vineyard he was staying at, and has declared he intends (with Parkinsons, damaged legs, and in his mid 70′s) to start a wine importing business. Furthermore he was most insistent that I shoud immediately give him my feedback on said samples (bottles).
I therefore decided to cook a curry, hoping that I would be able to soak up the alcohol. The resultant Pork Curry (pork is very cheap) was if may say so myself excellent. The wines complimented it splendidly, so much so, that despite having made enough Curry to last a couple of days, the whole lot appears to have been polished off in one sitting- there was nothing left this morning when I came to.
This may explain why I felt rather bloated when I went paddling with Tenacious D in the Condor K2 this morning. But does not explain Tenacious D’s erratic steering. Despite being regarded as a living legend when it comes to helming racing yaghts, his steering of a K2 is to be seen to be believed. At times we were paddling at 90 degrees to our actual course…how he will managed on a canal? I certainly want to spectate when he does.
Despite this Tenacious D and I paddled the Buccaneer 7km Time Trail course in 56 minutes.
On completion of the outing I noticed a rather unwanted side effect of my recent weight gain. My belly caught just under the cockpit, preventing me from exiting the craft. I need to return to my DW training routine quickly.
Cortisone did not turn up for this mornings outing!
Cheers
Beaujolais
Cortisone was unaware of the stealth outing seeing as the king of communication had not informed him of the aforementioned outing
